Nada Al Kurdi
Nada has a history with running ever since she was a kid. Born in Milan and raised in Paris, she was initiated to athletics at school and participated in many competitions starting age 8. After stopping the sport for several years, she started back running for pleasure while working in Lausanne.
In March 2018, she joined a professional running club. Her first achievement was during the qualifications for the Asian championship where she was ranked 3rd overall over the 5k distance. She then finished 3rd overall and 2nd in her age category at the Lebanese Half-Marathon Championship, completing it in 1:34:00.
More podiums awaited her in 2019. She earned the 2nd place overall at the Lebanese Cross Master Championship and was part of the 1st team at the Club cross country Championship. Re-connecting with her roots, she also participated in the Semi-Marathon de Paris and broke her personal record finishing it in 1:30:56.
As a next step, she aims at discovering new distances as well. After trying the 800m race distance and feeling the “speed myth” one can get while accelerating, she will definitely be working on the 1500m distance.
Competition or not, Nada mainly runs for pleasure and to challenge herself. Don’t be surprised to see her in notable earrings or lipstick on race days. Afterall, she is known by the hashtag #runlikeatourist and always reminds you that “A runner must run with dreams in his heart” (Emil Zatopek).
